Southern Cross Catholic College Burwood (SCCC) has its own Careers website with links to valuable information about vocational learning and resources to assist students to make informed decisions about their future.
All students who apply to enrol at the college are required to register on the SCCC Careers site and complete an interest quiz and personality profile in preparation for their enrolment interview.
The SCCC Careers site also provides assistance to students as they pursue a school-based apprenticeship or traineeship including how to prepare a resume and how to approach prospective employers.
Mr Len Eagles is the careers adviser at SCCC. He has three formal meetings with all students:
- An enrolment orientation for their apprenticeship or traineeship to ensure they are on the best career pathway to fulfil their career aspirations.
- A progress review as students move from preliminary to HSC studies to see what has worked and what has not.
- A transition interview to assist students with their transition from the college into the future world of work including an up to date resume that showcases all their experience, skills and qualifications.
Students can schedule additional meetings as required.
The college will also be organising industry specific information sessions presented by key industry representatives and employers. Students may also have the opportunity to organise an job interview after the information sessions.
Mr Eagles can be contacted by phone (02) 8372 4400 or firstname.lastname@example.org
