Learning and Achievement

Learning and Achievement

Our teachers know their students and work with them to help them realise their potential as learners. Our focus on authentic learning and authentic assessment ensures that we challenge our students to grow in their learning and achieve their personal best.

Throughout our community of Sydney Catholic schools, we have shown high performance of our students in measures such as NAPLAN and the HSC.

2019 Vet student of the year SCCVC Burwood

Students at Southern Cross are eligible to receive dual accreditation by completing Higher School Certificate (HSC) as well as Nationally Accredited Certificate I, II or III qualification(s), depending on the particular course selected and the units of competency achieved.

Students in an apprenticeship or traineeship are fully completed within the final two years, providing students with the HSC, a VET qualification, a certificate of proficiency and paid experience in the workplace.

“The greatest achievements of SCCC are found in the stories of the young people whose lives and careers have been enriched, engaged and enabled, built on the transformative commitment and dedication of the SCCC staff” – Pat O’Reilly (Principal 2010 to 2019)
